Candle Care

Candle care is essential for ensuring the longevity of your candles, enhancing their performance, and maintaining safety while they are lit. Here are several key candle care instructions to follow:
  1. Remove Your Crystal: Allow wax to melt for a few minutes and use a spoon to scoop crystals out. Use lukewarm water for excess wax.
  2. Trim the Wick: Before each burn, trim the wick to about 1/4 inch. This encourages a cleaner, brighter, and more controlled burn. Long or crooked wicks can cause uneven burning, dripping, or flaring.
  3. Allow the Wax to Pool: Let the wax melt across the entire surface of the candle before extinguishing it. This process, known as the first burn, prevents tunneling and ensures an even burn in future uses. For most candles, it takes about 1 to 2 hours to achieve a full melt pool.
  4. Keep the Candle Clean: Avoid letting wick trimmings, dust, or other debris fall into the wax pool. This can affect how the candle burns and potentially cause it to light improperly.
  5. Avoid Drafts: Place your candle away from fans, air conditioners, open windows, or busy walkways. Drafts can cause the flame to flicker excessively, leading to sooting, uneven burning, and diminished scent throw.
  6. Use a Candle Snuffer: Extinguish your candle by using a snuffer or gently blowing it out. This prevents hot wax from splattering and smoke from filling the air. For candles in containers, you can also use a lid to suffocate the flame.
  7. Store Properly: When not in use, store your candle in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight or intense light. Extreme temperatures and light can cause the candle to discolor, sweat, or lose its fragrance.
  8. Keep an Eye on the Burn: Never leave a burning candle unattended. Keep candles out of reach of children and pets. Always burn candles on a heat-resistant surface and away from flammable materials.
  9. Respect the Burn Time: Avoid burning a candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Continuous burn beyond the recommended time can cause the wick to move off-center or the container to become too hot.

By sticking to these candle care rules, not only will your candles live longer, but they'll also light up your life with a sizzle, guaranteeing a safe, fresh, and aromatic burn each time.
